My Full Story
I am an expedition guide, storyteller, scientific communicator, and host with more than 15 years of experience mainly in Patagonia and the Antarctic, and additionally, in places like Greenland, Alaska, the Canadian Arctic, South Georgia, the Falkland Islands, the Pacific coast of the Americas, and the Caribbean. My passion for hospitality and the love for my homeland have inspired me to found Across Patagonia, where my mission is simple: to use all this expertise in order to help you fall in love with my home the same way I did when I arrived at age 15. I want to provide our visitors with the most immersive and unforgettable experiences, and create living memories that will stay with you forever. I arrived in Patagonia when I was 15 years of age with my parents and my brother. Luckily, I was able to communicate in English and I had a particular interest in hospitality: treat others the way you would like to be treated. Life put me soon after in a van full of visitors from all over the world in tours to Torres del Paine National Park. I realized that guiding and being a host in such breathtaking place was what I loved. Therefore, I studied languages and became a translator and conference interpreter in Spanish, English and German. While in Germany, I realized how much of an ambassador of Patagonia I was, since all I could talk about whenever they asked me where I came from, was Torres del Paine and the natural wonders of my home; showing them pictures, videos, playing Andean music, and just allowing my passion and love to flow, which was apparently contagious. In time, I started to greet in Patagonia many friends I made abroad, and that filled my heart with joy. When I finished my major, I took on the challenge to expand my knowledge of Patagonia, and embarked as an expedition guide on board an expedition cruise that sails across the narrowest fjords and channels of Tierra del Fuego, all the way down to Cape Horn. I cannot explain with words how much I fell in love with Tierra del Fuego, and how much more there is to see about Patagonia, and that Torres del Paine was only the tip of the iceberg as for the magnificence of my home. My love and passion for nature allowed me to transition to another type of expedition cruise that ventures into frontiers I had never even dreamt of: Antarctica, the Falkland Islands and South Georgia; a privilege of a lifetime. Since then, I have been expanding my horizons in all directions: The Caribbean, the Pacific coast of the Americas, Alaska, the Canadian Arctic and Greenland, learning from some of the best professionals in the world about tourism, hospitality and the world of luxury travel in the most remote and astounding places on Earth. Hence, with all this experience, knowledge and passion for what I do, that I have decided to found Across Patagonia, pouring everything I have learned in these more than 15 years of a wonderful career, to create the most immersive experiences that will evoke the most sublime emotions and living memoires for good.
